Description: Dude is a sweet and gentle medium size pony who wants to be friends with everyone. He is not at all herd-bound, but likes every horse he has ever met and has often been used as a buddy-horse for other rescues. He likes humans and becomes super affectionate to them if other horses aren't close by. He is calm and gives humans the benefit of the doubt and he tends to learn pretty quickly. Dude is completely halter broke and will lead, tie, back, yield, etc but he does sometimes show a bit of stubborn pony-tude. Dude is good about letting you pick up his feet and clean them, but he is not yet good for the farrier. Dude has been started under saddle and has been through obstacle courses and on several trail rides, but he is still very green. Because of his larger size he can be ridden by some teenagers or smaller women, so he should be easy enough to finish by an intermediate rider. He has a kind nature that makes him especially suited for many children as he seems to have a special fondness for them. Dude is extremely intelligent and could easily learn whatever someone wanted to teach him including tricks of all types. History:Dude went through the July '13 auction in Enumclaw along with what was probably his mother, sister and several other herd members. His supposed mother is a Welsh cross and his father is probably a Fjord cross. All these ponies were part of a pony-ride string from the Sequim area. Dude was run through the auction loose and he was in fact completely unhandled and had been running wild all his life in a herd. He had never had a halter on him and had never had anything done with him. He was skinny, wormy and his feet had never been done.
